Jeff Greenberg, Mental Health Counseling Clinical Intern

Jeff Greenberg (he/him) is pursuing licensure as a Mental Health Counselor and studying Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University. He aims to support clients as they become more curious about their challenges and grow through their struggles. For Jeff, effective therapy allows for a greater experience of freedom, joy, meaning, creativity, and empowerment, along with deeper connections — to others, the environment, and one’s self.

Jeff is currently working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, stress, dissociation, grief, shame, identity, existential questions, psychedelic integration, and life transitions. Jeff aims to create an inclusive environment inside and outside the therapy office where all your parts are welcome, regardless of background, abilities, circumstances, history, or preferences. He recognizes it’s a confusing time to be in a male body and is committed to detoxifying masculinity and reconnecting to its wisdom.

Jeff has had a personal mindfulness practice for over a decade and uses a range of mindfulness and embodiment techniques to help clients be with what is present in the here-and-now. He draws from methods and theories of Gestalt therapy, transpersonal psychology, Internal Family Systems, the Hakomi Method of mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, among many others. He previously studied Buddhist Psychotherapy at the Nalanda Institute and is trained as an End-of-Life Doula.

Before Jeff realized his calling to provide psychological and spiritual support, he sought to understand the workings of the global economic and financial system. He worked for a decade as a global macroeconomist after studying politics, ethics, and Chinese at Tufts University, and earning a master’s in international economics from Columbia University.
