Simon Abramson, LCSW
I see therapy as a place where we step out of survival mode and into deeper connection with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. Many of the people I work with come in carrying anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, or patterns that feel difficult to shift. My role is to help slow things down, uncover what’s happening beneath the surface, and create the conditions where healing and resilience can emerge.
I often view these struggles as initiations, life’s way of calling us into new ventures of growth. Transitions like starting a family, facing loss, or finding recovery are not just obstacles; they are thresholds. Therapy can be the place where you meet these thresholds with support, and where challenge becomes an opening to deeper strength, purpose, and meaning.
My approach draws from somatic therapy, mindfulness, and trauma healing. I believe real change happens when we listen to the wisdom of the body as well as the mind, learning not just to think differently but to feel differently. Nature is also central to my work. Whether it is the quiet rhythm of breath, the grounding of a walk in the woods, or imagery drawn from the natural world, I help clients connect with resources that restore belonging, balance, and clarity.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from SUNY Albany, and my training includes Somatic Experiencing, trauma-focused approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. More important than any technique is the relationship we build. My commitment is to show up with presence, curiosity, and compassion while also challenging you when it is needed.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in the work of healing, growth, and connection.
