Nixa has collected many methods and modalities along this path.

• She is a certified Home Herbalist from Michael Tierra’s East West School of Herbology in Santa Cruz, CA.

• She has a NY state license in Aesthetics, Skin Care, Spa Therapies and Aromatherapy from the Aveda Institute SoHo in NYC.

• She honed the art and science of aromatic identification and blending at the East Village School of Aromatherapy in NYC, earning a certification in Natural Perfumery there.

• Nixa holds a Master’s Degree in Holistic Natural Medicine which fortifies her well-rounded full range of wellness protocols from food to light, sound, psyche and emotional integrations in to her teaching.

• Nixa is immersed in the Healing Oil Collective and Master Healer Academy with Tiffany Carole, which has grounded her knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The meditative and quantum anointing of plant essences on acupoints in curated sequences is meant to heal by dispelling stickiness, opening up freedom in the body/mind.

• She is certified in this Aroma Point Therapy method of curating essential oils with acupoints to bring the inner nature of the oils into the meridian system for healing.

• Practicing yoga since 1984, Nixa is a lineage holder in Tantra and has taught and trained teachers primarily in yoga history, philosophy, subtle body practices, and meditation. She offers practical coursework in Rasa Sadhana/the Yoga of the Emotions, and the 5 Currents of Meditation.

• In her role as an Art Therapist, Nixa studied and earned a certificate in Creative Art Therapy (CCAT) with Lucy Barbera, PhD thru SUNY Albany School of Social Work.

• She is a certified facilitator of a process called SoulCollage, which she uses as a primary method to explore the psyche, goldmine inner parts and help others develop inner wisdom for themselves.

Aroma Point TherapyTM is a gentle, needle-free healing modality combining aromatherapy with acupuncture principles by applying diluted essential oils to specific acupuncture points to stimulate energy flow and promote physical and emotional balance. Developed by Peter Holmes and Tiffany Carole, it uses the energetic properties of oils (like high, middle, base tones) to achieve effects similar to needles, supporting relaxation, pain relief, mood, and stress reduction by influencing the brain's emotional centers.

How It Works

• Selection: A practitioner chooses specific essential oils (like Lavender for calming or Vetiver for grounding) based on their aromatic and energetic qualities and the healing needs of the client.

• Application: A drop of diluted oil is placed on specific acupuncture points (acupoints) or body zones, chosen for their energetic functions. Most APT sequences use 3 or 4 oil/point combos.

• Stimulation: The oil's aromatic and cellular properties stimulate the point and the meridian channels through the body, providing both mechanical and energetic input, similar to needles but with added plant information.

• Systemic Effect: The aroma travels to the limbic system (emotions, memory), modulating hormones and neurotransmitters, leading to relaxation and improved mood, while the point stimulation balances energy flow.

What to Expect in a Session

• A preparatory intake call or email where our Aroma Point Therapist receives your inquiry and hears your intention for help. Nixa will create your personally tailored APT sequence.

• In person, scheduled at EPHH, provided oils are self-applied to acupoints in a curated sequence guided by the therapist and recorded for your use at home.

• May involve guided breathwork and visualization of the plants, hearing about both their properties and inner nature, as well as the properties of the points we pair them with. You will meditate with the plants "code."

• Can be a stand-alone treatment or to complement your psychotherapy and other holistic sessions.

• Highest quality oils can be purchased from our expert at the close of a session for delivery to your home, so that you can continue this meditation/application treatment sequence for a prescribed period of time on your own. 

• Recommended monthly as a sequence to be practiced at home on a consistent basis and reassessed and renewed for a next sequence based on your evolving needs. Every 40 days is a nice rhythm for shifting sequences and upgrading your personal evolution. 

• Upon the close of a session and an oils order, there will be a 10-day email or voice check in to support your practice and your healing.
